Unlocking the Beauty Within: Why I Embraced Boudoir Photography?

Hey, y'all! Welcome to my neck of the woods, where the sweet tea flows and the camera shutter clicks just a little bit slower. As someone who has been chasin' sunsets and captivating all realms of professional photography for over eight years, my journey has been filled with amazing experiences – from capturing the tender moments of weddings to immortalizing the vibrant energy of concerts, from the innocence of newborns to the grandeur of landscapes. However, in the midst of my camera adventures, I felt a pull for somethin' more, somethin' that spoke to my heart and left a mark on those I had the honor to capture.
It was a serendipitous encounter last year that became the catalyst for a transformative shift in my photographic journey. A dear friend approached me with a request for a "sexy" photoshoot, not merely to surprise her hubby but, more importantly, to commemorate a remarkable milestone: her awe-inspiring 100-pound weight loss. With an open heart and an eagerness to embrace the unfamiliar, I accepted this new challenge. Little did I know, it would lead me to my new found love of Boudoir Photography.
Now, I’m not going to lie to you — I was as lost as a goose in a hailstorm but with lots of google searches (yes ending up in places on the crazy web that I wish I had never been), pinterest, and YouTube videos, I was able to get thru my first Boudoir Photoshoot with confidence. And because of taking this leap I witnessed the profound metamorphosis of an amazing woman – a beauty that rose above the expectations of society and embraced her true, down-home self with all its raw authenticity. In that moment, I knew I had stumbled upon my true calling.
From that moment, I found peace in my own journey of accepting who I am and the strength that comes with it. Drawing from my own battles with body image, I set out to create a cozy haven where folks could feel at ease, free from the weight of self-doubt and the expectations of the world. Whether it's marking a big moment, finding your inner glow, or just being yourself without apology, I'm here to capture every bit of your story – wrinkles, curves, scars, and all – with nothing but love and admiration.
With permission from my sweet friend and very first boudoir client, I invite y'all to see the transformation that happens with Boudoir Photography. Take a gander at the first photo I took back in the summer of '23, and then some fresh shots from our latest session in the revamped studio, with a bit more 'boudie' flair behind the lens. It's a real testament to lovin' yourself, standing strong, and sprinkle a little Southern charm on top.
